how to be a happy pinoy
one thing i’m certain: i love that i’m pinoy. those 7,107 islands of beauty just keeps on amazing me and just wants me to discover more.
it astonishes me to see that i live in a country rich with God’s gifts. just so you know, you can do these things and add to the reasons you want to stay in pilipinas:
wake up to a beautiful sunrise at bantayan island;
feed the bees in bohol with all the pollen they want (because bees are happier in the morning);
try to be as wide-eyed as the smallest relative we have;
be on the highest peak a highway could ever be built on your way to sagada;
or jump as high as you want on the sands of boracay;
swim the clear and cool lagoons of palawan;
or simply enjoy the magnificent view of the sunset.
you can try something that will get in touch with your cultural side like…
smelling the flowers all over kadayawan festival;
and getting a glimpse on the works of art of the talented filipino fashion designers.
all of these made possible with the company you call friends, who goofs around with you on the boat;
and wherever you might find convenient for you.
of course, i could never leave out the one and only company i have all throughout my existence: my family.
they’re present on your birthday;
celebrates christmas in complete costume and game-faces;
and when you just want to be like a child again, they’re there to support you.
with all the blessings i have, i could never forget to thank God for all the wonderful things He gave.
as a special kudos, i give my time to Him to do missionary work, be with kids to do catechism, and teach them how to pray the rosary;
be in processions to imbibe that filipino aspect of christianity;
or just be in complete adoration of Him.
i’m very grateful for what i have. i’m surrounded by happy people who wants to see beautiful places with me. all of these, and yet, there’s still so much more to see, to hear, to feel, to learn.
what makes me happy? knowing the fact that i’m surrounded by all of these things, and having that awareness that there is yet to discover. because of this, the happiness never ends.
